W Magazine Best Performances Photoshoot

I’ve added a striking new photo of Shailene taken for W Magazine to the gallery. The shoot was taken as part of the magazine’s Best Performances issue, which features six different individual covers including Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams and Cate Blanchett. Hopefully I will be able to bring you scans of Shailene’s feature very soon.

When I saw Titanic, I wasn’t allowed to look when Kate Winslet took her robe off and posed naked for Leonardo DiCaprio. My parents were in the room, and they made me turn my face so that I didn’t see her breasts. We had French doors to our backyard, and I could see the scene reflected in the glass. I remember thinking, Oh, my God—one day I’m going to have those, and it’s so exciting.

New Images from ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’

I’ve added two new stills of Shailene from White Bird in a Blizzard to the gallery. It was announced earlier this week that the film will be headed to Sundance Film Festival, which is very exciting news! To view the full lineup of premieres heading to the festival in January, click here.

New ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’ Stills

It has a long time since we last had any updates on White Bird in a Blizzard, but earlier this week some new stills from the film were released. Hopefully this means that the film is being prepped for a premiere at Sundance early next year – I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!

On staying true to herself in Hollywood: “There’s nothing like walking into a meeting and people expecting me to shake hands, and you hug them. For me, a hug is to disregard all of that bullshit and be like, This is me, Shai. This is who I am. Now let’s talk about real situations. Let’s not talk about all this surface-level stuff.”

On the next five years: “I’m so young, and I’m single, and I just want to drift. I’m just going to be a drifter. I want to do something totally different before Insurgent [the second film in the Divergent trilogy]. Maybe I’ll work in a tea shop. Or live in Amsterdam. Or be a nanny. Life experience only helps us as actors. I need new experiences to draw upon.”
