Now, we have a teaser trailer for the film – which you can check out below. I can’t wait to see this one!

New ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’ Stills

November 23, 2013

It has a long time since we last had any updates on White Bird in a Blizzard, but earlier this week some new stills from the film were released. Hopefully this means that the film is being prepped for a premiere at Sundance early next year – I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!

First Stills from ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’

February 22, 2013

I’ve updated the gallery with the first stills of Shailene as Kat Connors in the upcoming thriller White Bird in a Blizzard, directed by Gregg Araki. Hopefully we’ll be seeing and hearing a lot more about the film in coming months.

Kat Connors is 17 years old when her perfect homemaker mother, Eve, a beautiful, enigmatic, and haunted woman, disappears – just as Kat is discovering and relishing her newfound sexuality. Having lived for so long in a stifled, emotionally repressed household, she barely registers her mother’s absence and certainly doesn’t blame her doormat of a father, Brock, for the loss. In fact, it’s almost a relief. But as time passes, Kat begins to come to grips with how deeply Eve’s disappearance has affected her. Returning home on a break from college, she finds herself confronted with the truth about her mother’s departure, and her own denial about the events surrounding it…

Christopher Meloni Joins ‘White Bird’

November 21, 2012

EMPIRE – It’s been a few months since we heard anything about Gregg Araki’s latest film, which, back then had Shailene Woodley attached and was simply called White Bird. Now the full title appears to be White Bird In A Blizzard and the movie has added Christopher Meloni, Eva Green, Shiloh Fernandez and Gabourey Sidibe.

Not much is known about what they’ll all be doing, besides the fact that Woodley will be playing a young woman whose life is changed dramatically when her mother disappears. Araki wrote the script and is in pre-production on the film, which will shoot, we assume, soon in case Woodley has to go and report to the Amazing Spider-Man sequel set. Though even if she does finally lock in the Mary Jane role on Spider-Man, chances are she could also work on other things in between shooting blocks.

Meloni, meanwhile, is keeping his film career ticking along after a long stretch on cop drama Law & Order: SVU. With that now finished, he’s got plenty of movies set to arrive, including Jackie Robinson drama 42, comedy They Came Together and a tiny indie pic about some bloke who can leap tall buildings in a single bound called Man Of Steel, which arrives on June 14.

Shiloh Fernandez, Eva Green Join “White Bird”

October 16, 2012

UP AND COMERS – “Red Riding Hood” actor Shiloh Fernandez and Eva Green have joined future Mary Jane Watson Shailene Woodley in indie drama “White Bird”, according to Deadline.

Gregg Araki will direct the film which revolves around Woodley’s character, a young woman whose life is upended following the disappearance of her mother. Last we heard, the search was on for the roles of the girl’s parents and the lead detective on the disappearance case, though we can’t say for sure either Green or Fernandez fits any of those roles.

Fernandez played Peter, aka Love Interest #1 to Amanda Seyfried, in Catherine Hardwicke’s “Red Riding Hood” and has wrapped up filming on Brit Marling’s eco-terrorist thriller “The East” alongside Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard, indie dramas “Deep Powder” opposite Haley Bennett and “Syrup” opposite Amber Heard, as well as the new “Evil Dead” remake opposite Jane Levy.
